Biopolis

Todae went to IMCB(institute of Molecular and Cell Biology) aka biopolis for bio course...the course itself was not bad...The only problem lies with the people there..

Firstly...the facilitators..some were quite nice,some were irritating,some look so strict. The students(just a few) were even worse...they discriminate us!!Nanyang..so wad... so gd then still nid 2 go 4 course meh...

Except for the unhappiness..the course is basically quite gd...lotsa waiting though..first thing go there at 8.30 n wait for the people to cum n 'welcome' us...then got 2 weird briefings n 1 super duper 2 hrs long lecture on zebra-fish,hedgehong,mutations etc.Didn't really catch wad the lecturer is saying though..1/4 of e time trying hard not to fall asleep..the rest trying to figure out wad on earth he's talking about...(content far too chim 4 me lahx...)

Then got lunch break...their canteen is not bad..cleaners super efficicent n students got special price!!!Muahahaha....lolx.Although it still turned out to be quite ex but nvm,the food is quite gd!Lotsa indian food n vegetarian food..maybe the scientists there all beri health-conscious?? (JOse would like that place)And it was raining so did not get the chance to go to Holland V or to explore.

Then return to do practical...we got cool lab coats...awww...then prepared tetratogens(spelling got error?)..they are substances which can mutate our genes to affect off-springs.Me n HX were stucked together...the rest all diff pairs from diff schs.Aniwae, we prepare ethanol..i alwaes thought it was too common a thing to be so complex..but i was so wrong!!100% ethanol was in fact so dangerous!!

Then we went "fishing"..we caught a male n a female zebra-fish n put them together.They have soo mani fishes!!Wah...but all are zebra-fish n are used for experiments..(poor fishes??)

Then returned to lab n prepare the embryos for staining tml..n looked through the microscope to see the normal n mutated(treated with ethanol) embryos(very small fishes)...the mutated ones only haf 1 eye n look so weird...but they will not die though..n i realise sumthing..i'm better than their staff at picking out embryos...lolx..

After that we put the treated embryos on a mutator(turning machine) to leave overnite n the prepare tetratogens(in 4 small dishes) in the incubator...

After the thingy ended we went to find Holland V.It was not realli a short walk!!And i guess we don't haf time to walk there n back tml during lunch..so juz got to stick ard Matrix(another imcb building) n eat there...

Aww...it was soo tiring...n juz onli after todae i realise how little i noe abt bio...awww...how will tml's course be like??hopefully less unpleasant situtions..n tis entry is really long!!

WOOOO man!!!!!!!Guess wad...i got back my express chinese results todae!!! And it's a A1!!!Lolx...nt bad ritez...considering we onli study like dunno wad 4 a short while...

Every1 did well lahx...100% distinction....every1 worked hard.....congrats to all!!!!

'O's results out le...our sch no national top tis yr...but got national top malay student...weee...hmmm..well,sumone got A1 too...geeerr..........wadeva...seniors all did pretty well too!! =)
